My attempt at Hunger Games nail art. The thumb is the mockingjay, of course. Index represents both Katniss and District 12 with it's coal burning flame. Middle is in remembrance of Rue. Ring is the rocky stream, the forest, and the cave from the Arena. And last but not least I wanted to acknowledge the violence of The Hunger Games with a nice blood spatter. After seeing the preview for the movie and the drab, gray/blue clothes of the reaping I put the blood spatter over a drab gray/blue.

Thank you! I found a video tutorial on Youtube that used a straw to create the splatter effect. I found it so weird but it works! Hope it helps. :)

Oddly enough, I painted the flame first and worked my way out. I started with the red and drew in a small flame, put the orange in next, and then the yellow. I didn't let the color dry completely before using clear to kind of smudge them together. Then I painted in the black background and ended with the small swipe of black crackle to the center of the red flame.
